I have removed the solitary screw under the toy with - can't pull the switch out for inspection. I've also removed the 12 screws on the side locking machine plate but how do I dismantle it?

Answers:    as others have said nearby will be another screw under a cover bonnet securing the handle contained by position.
if the handle isn't loose later the espagnolette lock mechanisms' gearbox is usuall broken.
replacements are available but find someone locally /recommended as there are varied types to suit your window profile.
