For about 2 weeks now I enjoy been trying to get rid of a bleak case of algea. After alot of hard work I did hack it to get the water to a cloudy blue color instead of green but explicitly where I am stuck at. I can't seem to draw from the water to that pretty crystal clear state. So for several days now I notice that when I add a gallon of bleach, my water turns green and stays that opening for about 5 or 6 hours then it go back to the cloudy blue. I also added more algeacide this morning. Does this mean I still enjoy algea in the pool ?
My pool holds 7633 gallons of water and my reading this morning before adding the bleach be:
total hardness-200 Free Chlorine -0 ( has been in that for days no matter how much bleach I add)
pH -7.5 Total Alkalinity - 180 and Cyanuric Acid is somewhere between 0 and 29, on the test strip it is a yellowish ginger color that is not on the back of the hth 6-way assessment strip box.
Thanks in advance.
You may have to empty the hose and have someone scrub the bottom of the pool stand over the pool and scream THE POWER OF CHRIST COMPELLS YOU untill it clears up
I don't think you are suppose to use bleach surrounded by the pool. It isn't quite the same as pool chlorine.
Best entry to do is to get a water token and take it to a pool shop. They can test the hose and recommend what needs put in it. They do it for free. Cloudy pools are usually a result of low Ph level. Clean the filter, put in shock and add PH up. Chlorine alone will not clear it. As for the algea.. nearby is a chemical for that too. Good luck
Answers:    First, bring back yourself a good test gear. The test strips are not accurate. Also, bleach is exactly the same as pool chlorine and is frequently smaller amount expensive. You do need to add lots of it. With a Cyanuric Acid even of under 29, you will lose nearly all of your bleach after a few hours of sun. Plan on carrying out tests and adding bleach several times a day to hang on to your chlorine level up high ample to kill the algae.
That's a filter issue for sure
