my outside unit froze completely...i parsimonious it has rime all over it and to top it bad the fan stopped working? is near anything i can do before calling someone...i envisage its expensive and money is tight.
Answers:    I believe your outdoor unit is a have a frost on the condenser because of the lack of refrigeration grease. The oil fuctioned as a form of lubrication to lubricate the inner side of the condenser tubing to net sure the referigerant liquid runs well to complete the heating/refrigerating cycle. The fan stop working because it be controlled by a special in-built thermostat that makes it rotate solitary if the temperature of the condenser is glorious enough. If it's frozen,it will stop now.I'm affraid there ain't frequent you can do about that but to beckon for the HVAC specialist to deal near your problem. It's just a small situation and i'm sure the charge would not be too high.
shut it sour ,turn thermostat to emer heat setting ,consequently call someone to fix defrost cycle on outside unit(pull diconnect out contained by outside electrical box that goes to section
