My almanac vacuum hose for my swimming pool have a hole the wideness of an ink pen. Is nearby any hope of a fix? A patch, or vinyl glue of some sort perhaps?

Answers:    cut the doomed to failure piece out and reattach the ends with a vacuum hose coupler available from a pool store
Gas fire is this right?
Try covering it with silicon aquarium caulk, AND wrap it near some waterproof tape to keep hold of the caulk in place.
