I purchased a home last summer. The previous owners abandonned the house. There is an inground pool that have not been used/maintained within 3 years. The water is disgusting! Last summer it be slimy green and this year it is BLACK. I pulled 3 dead mice and 5 late frogs out of the pool this spring and last week I saw a snake swimming it the pool.
Should I drain the pool and stock up it with verbs water?
Everyone I asks say draining the pool is a mistake and I should just shock it and treat it beside chemicals and it will clear up in a week. I don't know anything almost pools but my gut feel is to drain it. I am a moment or two bit of a germ-o-phobe so I don't know what to do.

Depends upon what type of pool you hold. If you have a vinyl liner or a fiberglass insert, you should never never drain it. The hose may look bad but it truly can be cleaned up beside chemicals and filtering and vacuuming and some time.
I own heard of citizens draining pools where the dampen table was fairly high and the pool starts to "float" out of the ground merely like a boat.
That is one basis they say never drain it.
High chlorine level will kill stuff stale and the animals don't like it adjectives that well any.
But you may have seriously of scrubbing and vacumning to do.

Answers: I suggest not draining it, and getting surrounded by a pool cleaning specialist who will put all the right chemicals surrounded by it and clean it out beside nets etc. Remember to engender sure the filter on the pool is working though/buy a new one is probably a fitting idea, to preserve it clean after this.
