My clock is A Howard Miller it is 30 years old the origanal owners go to nursing home so we moved to my house it was working fine.even after it be moved .
Answers: Depends how its driven - if its weights, check the chain they hang down on is properly over the cogs in the apparatus and that it isn't caught. If it's clockwork spring driven the spring might be jammed or broken. Check that the bell or string hammers are in fact moving, they might have fall or bent away from the bell or string during the move.
On one of my clocks it was as simple as the hammer having fall away from the bells when moved.
yeah when you move em is when they get unnatural. you need some wd 40. spray adjectives over the mechanism and receive sure the heaviest weight is where on earth it is supposed to be. Mine is on the far right. When I took it down to clean it I mistakenly put the wrong freight on the far right(their are 3) When replacing them correctly and spraying it down good. It started working again.
