I have hearth rug and the flooring is just plain wood, nil special like not easy wood or anything. How do I get it to stop making boom when I walk. I enjoy a basement and own sccess to under the wood if that help...

Answers:    Go to a good hardware store and they own metal brackets you can put under you floor. You screw them to your floor joist and to you flooring from your underground room. If you stop the movement you stop your squeaks.
