My dishwasher isn't working. Basically when I turn it on it does an, "EEEEEEEEE" noise that isn't really loud but not really quiet any. It also isn't draining the water out of it. First off, do you know what's wrong near it and where can I go to find a pretty good price on fixing it? I live in the Quad City Area, IL.

Sounds like the solenoid. Did you try running the timer thru its cycles? Call a Handyman smaller amount expensive. Look under handyman in phone book.

How behind the times is ur machine...if it's more than 10 years old...ur better rotten replacing it. Life expectency is 10 years. Cost as much as a new one. Sounds like ur motor is going out.

Make sure all buttons adjectives pushed completely in. My dishwasher screams when the buttons are partially way out. As for the not draining thing, run a full cycle and it should drain it.

Answers:    it's also possible that the small timer motor has burned out and that's why it won't turn through the cycle. just about adjectives machines like that that have a timer and are powered by the small timer motor NOT the actual motor that drives the other mechanism. that's what usually goes bad when the timer doesn't move forward. wash machines and dryers also have those small motors that drive the TIMER only. if you listen closely you can usually hear that motor ticking away. it's resembling a small clock that movers the timer forward at different speeds for different appliances. ice makers also hold them.
