My refuse disposal doesn't work.....? I pushed the reset button, and when i hit the on/off switch...
I pushed the reset button, and when i hit the on/off switch it acts approaching it wants to stir, but after about ten second it quits and I have to push the reset button again? I did stick my mitt in in attendance and I didn't feel anything caught contained by there. Any conception what's wrong with it?
Unplug the disposal for sanctuary. Put your hand within and try to turn it. Doing this might dislodge something small that is contained by there or break it free if it is seized up near food or rust. (if you haven't used it in a while) If you look surrounded by there near a flashlight, you might see that it is a bit rusty and giving it a healthy dose of WD40 or other pointed lubricant might do the trick. Don't forget to plug it back surrounded by!
Sounds close to there is something jammed..
Take a wooden protest, (handle out of a plunger works pretty well), and with some carefulness, force the cutter to move either spinal column or forward, either route will do.
Once you have freed it up a bit, hit the RESET button, later the RUN switch. That should do the trick.
Run a little wet into it and allow the disposer time to clear out whatever might be moved out in it..
Answers: If here is a reset button, then the element must be an ISE. It should have come near an Allan wrench that fits in the middle of the part (underneath) If you cant find the original, after get one that fits (I ruminate its 5/16") and insert it in the hole. Turn the wrench one ways and after the other until it is free flowing then start the contrivance (remove the wrench). What ever you have surrounded by there is probably jammed between the wall and the chopper.
