Has anyone dealt with anything remotely resembling this? Look, I'm not going to lambaste the company, they are the 800 pound gorilla in my area, and I in reality think it may have be the company I had PREVIOUS to this who installed it this way.

But after have problems with TV, cable modem, etc, having techs come out almost once a year, and swap out mean looking equipment, I finally did some sleuthing of my own and... the cables are just out in the open laying next to the house contained by the backyard. I never really noticed them because there is this leafy stuff growing right up against the house that I guess someone found be perfect to camouflage their shoddy work.

It doesn't look like they diligence about the cables on the ground, and I'm not sure I'd want them to do the work any. Is there a particular sort of I don't know, 'tradesman' I can call who can put a utility box on my house or at LEAST get the cable off the ground?

This doesn't exactly sound approaching a job for an electrician...
Answers:    i know it don't sound resembling work for and electrician, but i can tell you that I'm an electrician and have trenched, and run a lot of cable TV and telephone.

if your not comfortable doing it yourself, that is to say an option.

if you want to do it yourself you can scratch it into the ground and put it into a intersection box. you might want to run a piece of PVC pipe up to the box to protect the wire.

sorry that they did this kind of work, too lots people these days don't nurture about craftsmanship.
It sounds like you might be someone considerable...say...like...THE CUSTOMER?

It be their job to track down any existing wires and either replace them or fix any that are tattered.

I would call them and tell them what you found. If they dispense you any problems threaten to call the BBB. If that doesn't work, ask a lawyer to dispatch them a letter. They will for a small fee.

Take lots of pictures, especially of the vines and stuff covering the wires.
