This is about the 4th time it happened. The AC section is 5 years old and I have call three different technicians. They say there is no outflow and just recharge and do some cleaning but AC only concluding about 2 months before it freezes up again. The second technician said the thermostat might be the problem. My town gets up to 125 degrees during the summer. It is currently at 115 I'm tired of this . Any recommendation?
I realize you have really high temps where on earth you live, but sometimes if you run the A/C at the lowest setting it won't freeze up. (a little less cool is better than no cool at all) Also, the more humid the outside air is, the faster the section is to freeze up. Lived in FL for a while and this worked for us ~ Hope this helps I used to enjoy that problem. Make sure you have a clean nouns filter in place, and find time during the day when you can turn the section off. I turn it off or approach down when I go to work. No reason to preserve it runnng the 8-10 hours I'm not there.
Maybe all the 3 different technician you have call were unexperienced so you need a economically experienced technician to solve your problem. Your system has a very small trickle that could hardly be detected so it last for 2 months up to that time the refrigerant drains. the best way to find the leak is to remove the condenser and evaporator and a pressure it up to 350 psi.of nitrogen and soak it surrounded by water to find the leak and If the leach or leaks have be found and welded properly, No more problem! Wait!
You said there is NO LEAK, consequently you said "technician said no leak and just RECHARGE.
If explicitly the case, your A/C is severely over-charged. That means juice freon (or refrigerant) is circulating with no chance of proper evaporation. That process no cooling. A/C works on "evaporative" cooling.
First thing you need to verify is, indeed, near is no leak. Second thing is you have need of to verify it is properly charged. The third thing is to verify your T-stat works properly. (and in this order)
If it is with the sole purpose cooling 10 degrees, T-stat is not your problem. I bet, it is charged too much! (or there is a leak)
Answers: I would be interested to know how long these techs were on site to work on your unit. If they hold to recharge the A/C, then you have a seepage. The problem is that it can be time consuming to find. Common areas for leaks, besides piping joints, can be contained by both the indoor and outdoor coils. I've often found leaks surrounded by the coils where the tubing makes a u-turn at the ends. The access valve are also common areas for leaks. They're nature of like a tire valve, and if properly seated, will leak through the cap. I've even found leak before in the compressor terminal. One thing to try, is to buy a bottle of gas leak reactant. I resembling a product called Big-Blu, which is sold at HVAC wholesalers. It's a heavy duty soap solution that will bubble up when sprayed on a bleed. You could try that to find leaks on the coils, piping, valves, etc. Otherwise, you'll call for a tech with the proper tools to really detect where the trickle exists. Good luck.
Generally the cause of freezing up is dirty coils. They get dirty and wont allow the upper air to flow over them properly. Being low on freon can also cause it to freeze up. Any AC mechanic worth his salt should know that. Question if element has no leak what be the need for more freon? My best guess is the coils. Clean and replace filter a little more recurrently in the summer. At least once a month and conceivably every three weeks in the summer. Hope this helped. Good luck and stay coooool. you transport this problem before and i tell you it is you compressor is going doomed to failure. why i say so you may ask, if you service man say what you write, after your compressor valve plate with three spout maybe breaking off one by one inside your compressor. when that begin the compressor don't work like it use to be. such as it don't like a 3.5 if it is a 3.5 component, it work like a lesser component as it. replace the compressor
no overrun why are they RECHARGE it, normally one charge will last 10 years, I will bet you $ 1.00 you own a BIG LEAK, next guy go near ask them what is the reading on suction side it should be 70 psi, 50 or less that mean it is especially low and it will freeze, freon in the house run above freezing it does not matter how low your thermostat is if element clean and fully charge will never freeze someone tell you other astute they don't know what the hell they talking about.
angelic luck stay cool
may be thermostat or leak of frion
