Last night I discovered mold on my bedroom wall. It is below an antediluvian window that sweats profusely during the cold months. I am not sure if that is what cause the problem because we also found quite a bit of standing wet underneath our house over the summer. We had to replace the sump pump to clear the hose down. Either way the mold wants to be removed. It doesn't not smell so I'm hoping it may not be that bad. I could be COMPLETELY wrong though. What is the best process to clean the mold from the painted wall and find what is truly causing the problem? Any relief will do, I need it ASAP. I am pregnant beside twins and need this resolved right away! Thank you!
Answers:    Be terrifically cautious due to your pregnancy. When you disturb the mold, the mold count usually go up from a couple of hundred spores per cubic meter to 10,000 - 20,000 - 30,000 ranges. I suggest you have a professional look at it. Some states (like Texas where on earth I am) regulate mold assessment and remediation. Your problem could be very supeficial (on the painted surface) or vastly involved (inner wall cavity mold) - someone qualified needs to consent to you know.

There could be several causation factors from what you own mentioned. CAUTION: Do not merely "paint over" or clorox over the mold -- it will most likely be vertebrae if you do. In sheetrock the ONLY accepted method is the removal of the sheetrock because the mold grows into the sheetrock. Do not over take action - there are various types of mold and as long as you don't disturb it, the airborne effects will be minimized. It does need to be investigated by someone qualified.

If you remove the baseboard lower than the window,it may reveal (with some release of spores) if nearby is more mold present (many times such water leak manifest in mold at the rear baseboards.
