So I asked on here how to lower my electric bill because I live in a fairly small 2 bedroom apartment and our bill lately have been $90, which I think is excessive for an apartment. Everyone told me to receive sure all the lights are turned off (which I've done) and turn the a.c. up during the afternoon when I'm not home(which i've done). I just got the bill contained by the mail and it's $111. I don't see how it could have possibly gone up. Does it use more sparkle to cool a house that has been set to 80 degree all day? I don't make out what the problem is...help! I can't afford $111 for electricity every month!!
Where do you live? If it's been hot adjectives month, your a/c is running all the time even if the temp is set higher.
Try visit your electric company's web site - they usually have joie de vivre analyzers on there and it might help you pinpoint where on earth the real issue is. Or call them and see if they do free verve audits.
It have gotten hotter since last month so to cool your place down means your AC will hold to run longer. You can also change your bulbs to compact fluorescents to help gather some energy. Also the cost of energy keep going up. Keep trying, it will pay off within the long run. It should be saving you money to turn your AC up to 80 when you aren't there. Also can you turn it up within the evening and run a fan in your bedroom to hang on to you cooler? there are several things you can do. have your utility company do an animation audit and check how well things are insulated, type of windows etc. and what their recommendation are. often times there are low cost programs available for energy-saving improvements. another entity is that you might have to call an nouns conditioning company to service the unit and to evaluate how well it is working. also save the curtains closed on southside and westside of apartment. hope this helps
You did not mention if you have pets. If you do, it is significant to keep your home comfortable for them, while you are gone during the day.
Switch to compact flourescent bulbs.
If you do not own pets, keep your drapes drawn in the daytime when not a soul is home, to prevent solar heating of rooms. Try turning your A/C off, when you are not home, next turn on full blast when you get home.
Turn off power strips when you are done using your computer.
Your bill IS elevated. I would ask my electric company for an energy survey, and to find out if you are paying anyone else's electric in your building.
Sorry, but you can't lower your electric bill. Get use to it. Everyones electric bill is going through the roof!
You are obviously a young party. How do you think us older ancestors on a fixed income feel? What do we do ? We must have nouns conditioning or we will die. The only thing that will come to pass to you is you'll not have money for the things you "want", not "need.
Answers: I changed my light bulbs to the fluorescent ones, but surrounded by only the lights I have on deeply because they are more expensive than just regular bulbs. They did pay for themselves within a two month period, so I've been abiding ever since. I have my TV, and radio on a surge protector power strip, so I switch that off when I'm not using them. I don't put on a pedestal the temperature for my air conditioner as much as you do, because I find that if I consent to my house get too warm, the (central) nouns conditioner runs a lot more, so on very hot days, I turn it to 75 or 76. Rule here is, if I'm not using it, it get shut off. The computer too. All utilities are going up, and being on a fixed budget, I'm trying to squirrel away as best as I can. I too don't have any extra money for anything other than my survival, but I also am not raise a little girl either. I pray that things acquire better for you. I feel sorry for you and all of us others (especially women) who are trying to be paid it through life today. Its very tough.
hold you check how much your paying per k/wk last month verse this month,mine go up 40% over last month,you might be using less,but paying more because of this increase surrounded by k/wk. make sure your ac is of when not a home that will help That is only just a waste of time.
Turn rotten all lights, stereos, and other electrical equipment when you're not using them. try changing you table lamp bulbs to fluorescent they use 2/3 less power also tv's , cable boxes, compures and cell phone chargers all draw power when within not being used make sure these are unplug
