My Kenmore dishwasher Model # 363.14252100 will not drain. I don't want to leave the hose in the bottom because I don't want it to smell.Any suggestions???
Answers: I own a few suggestions. If you can hear it run while in drain and no marine goes out. Did you lately replace your garbage disposal? If you did and your drain hose is connected to it the "knock-out" may not be removed which would not allow it to drain. To fix this steal your drain hose off of the disposal and put your finger inside the tube that the hose be on and see if you feel anything blocking it, if you do, lift a hammer and screwdriver and knock it out.
Second, your drain hose may be clogged, if it is connected to a disposal and not looped up high than the port it is connected to, waste have a tendency to run doen it and clog it up, once again remove hose from diposal and blow it out into dishwasher and adjectives should be fine
Last, there is a portion called the piston and nut assembly (WD24X10018) which is located within the back underneath the grate that go side to side. Take out the four 1/4" screws and remove the grate, subsequent unscrew the piston and nut assembly. It has a plunger on a spring that engage to go into drain and create a vacuum. If the white rubber gasket contained by the middle looks deteriorated replace it and try to drain it.
Hope this helps
Suck it out beside a shop vacuum. Other wise bring the hose off and check to see if it is plugged.
