The lights in one room enjoy suddenly stopped working. flicked the switch on but not one of twelve halogen lights worked. The fuse never tripped, what are the possible causes? I suspect that as we have some kids jumping around on the floor above, the tremors hold caused a rope to come loose and break the circuit. What's the best way to testing this? Will I have to embezzle each lantern out and check that the wiring is intact?
If these are low-voltage halogens then it's possible that they are feed from a common single transformer. You hold just discovered one of the disadvantages of using a single, big transformer to run 12 lamp!
These transformers usually have accessible fuses which can be replaced.
If jump kids have cause the fixed wiring to break, I'd be wanting to take the whole installation checked.....
Are those lights on a transformer?
****WITH THE POWER OFF****
First check that for solid connections on both sides.
If you don't have, (and know how to use), a meter or
a question paper lamp, you're not equipped to budge further.
Answers: best to nickname an electrician or your landlord. they hold kits they hook up to wires to see which ones still are running power thru them. don't mess w/electricity yourself. phone call a pro.
Call an Electrician.
If you do not know what you are doing you can go and get hurt.
or do something to cause ahouse fire.
Electricity is not something to play beside. It can be Deadly!
