The ball manacle that clicks to turn the light on and rotten is stuck. I tried yanking and of late pulled the string off of the manacle. I tried using a pencil to push it back up within there to no avail.
Any other direction?

Answers:    Stop poking pencils into electrical circuits. Graphite is a great conductor. Call an electrician. Or replace the fixture.
