Starting a couple of months ago, my LiftMaster garage door opener will close to inwardly a foot or so of fully closed, then bounce hindmost open, as if in that was an hold-up. This only occur duting the daytime. I might mention the garage door is on the southwest wall of the house, so the sun's light may possibly be a factor. Am I correct and what can I do? Closing the door using the encyclopaedia override is great exercise, but quite tiresome.
Answers:    Adjust the close force on the powerhead. The spring stiffness lessens overtime and the introduction needs to compensate. (It does not damage the opener.) It should solely take nearly a quarter turn with that little of an initial left.
If that fail to work you need unsullied photoeyes. The sun can damage them after a while. It is unlikely though if the door closes most of the style.
Mine did this too. To test my premise, I used duck tape & an senseless cardboard tube from toilet paper. I put it over the sensor wrap up, the one the light be shining on & amazingly enough, my garage door worked. At lowest possible until the duck tape get warm & started letting the tube hang down. It ended up blocking the sensor too. I in a minute have a piece of black PVC pipe epoxied to the sensor wrap up to block the sunlight. Just be sure it is lined up right so the laser lantern will still make it through to the sensor. I propped up the tube for several days until the epoxie dried & haven't have any more problems.
