We have a Lennox C23-46FC-1... the ignition sparker cycles through and the part kicks on for more or less 2-3 minutes, then shuts rotten. I am, by no means, aware with heat units and am not sure what could be cause this. I don't know if it's supposed to cycle again and ignite or how this whole piece works. Any information about the standard process when the furnace first ignite? If it won't stay on, what could be the issue and how costly is it to repair?
Answers:    I don't know if this unit is gas or grease, I will you give both answers to fix your problem. If it's grease, the gun type burner pumps the oil and at the tip of the gun is two electrodes, igniter which ignite the atomized fuel. Right above the gun is the safekeeping control called the fire eye. When the flame ignite the light from the flames shines on this eye and keep the pump on and pumping, If the eye is dirty or covered with soot or grease it doesn't get any wispy and shuts the system down after a minute or so. This works the same as the control to turn lights on and past its sell-by date at dawn to dusk. It works on table lamp.

If it's gas the ignition turns on and it may ignite with a pilot neutral, glow plug or electronic ignition, Very close to the burner you will see a small bi-metal rod next to wire connected to the gas solenoid. This is a thermocouple. It works by getting hot at teh burner and produces a small electrical (milli volts) to save the burner on, If this is not getting heated up or is broken ther is no electrical charge and the solenoid clicks off shutting down the system. These are simple and inexpensive to replace, If you are a DIYer try it, but for call someone , The eye is comfortable to clean after cleaning the lens and it still doesn't work. time for a clean one don't believe that expensive. Hope I covered most to get you started Happy Thanksgiving
The model number you give is for an evaporator coil not a furnace. It sounds like an issue near the fan or low nouns flow. Check the filter first. To see how it is supposed to work and for a step by step troubleshooting guide, check out the furnace page at www.hvac-for-beginners.com
