I have a two of a kind of leather boots with a 1" stacked front, and bits of the leather on piece of the toe of one side is cracked and peeling rotten, revealing a rougher black material. I conjecture it could have be because I kicked a rough surface while walking. They're black leather and very smooth and supple, I don't know what type exactly, but they're made by Costume National if that's any give support to. Is there any path I can fix this?

Answers: You could pinch the boots to a cobbler for repair, you have expensive boots so net sure a professional does the repair job.
best of luck to you!
