Was wondering if anybody could give me a ballpark estimate on how much it would cost to have a professional repair my underground room. Every time it rains, theres water on the floor, luckily its not finished. Its just a partial basement with a crawlspace, and the actual crypt part is only in the region of 12 by 12.
Thanks
Answers: Water on the floor? It's possible your sump pump is malfunctioning, in which case, the rainwater is certainly seeping up through your concrete slab.
If this is the case, a contemporary sump pump might be the solution. Contact a few plumbers and shop around for estimates. If it's just a replacement, I can't imagine the employment costing any more than $75.
I also recommend a battery backup for your pump if power outages are prone to occur surrounded by your area during storms.
You can't begin to fix the problem till you know how it's getting onto the floor..
Next time there's a sturdy rain, go down within and watch.
It usually comes through the wall, but it could get within through a low opening, or up through the slab...
All require different fixes...
You may also find that it depends on which way the coil is blowing the rain.
