Leaking sun room? the sun room frame is metal/aluminum and has plexiglass. It be removed...

the sun room frame is metal/aluminum and has plexiglass. It be removed from one house and reinstalled on another house. The contractort that took it apart is the one who reinstalled it. He did a shotty job on the silcone. I removed the antediluvian silcone, very easliy I may append. after that I purchased some silcone that you can apply in drizzly weather. The water seem to leak down through the seam in the frame. I cogitate I am on the right path. What big-hearted of silcone would be used for this? Can I find a water sealer cartridge for this ? the seams are roughly 2.5 to 3" wide near a gasket in the middle specifically covered by a frame insert or cover if you will. thanks
Answers:    Go to your local home center and ask for their suggestion. They will be more than happy to put up for sale you the right silicone sealer. If the seal is that unpromising though you may have to run the darn windows apart and reapply the gasket yourself. That is the state-of-the-art fix. Have you complained to the contractor, what is his warranty, and what will the state think if you complain just about his work?

The problem is that the weak spots won't be the sealant, recurrently they are stronger than whatever they stamp; the gasket is your problem.

3M is one major company that make some good sealant: http://www.hillas.com/Products/3M_Sealan...
Look at the Weatherband or Scotch-weld on this record: http://www.matweb.com/search/GetMatlsByM...

The most likely problem is a doomed to failure gasket, and you can pour sealant all around it if you want, but it won't fix the problem. The dampen will build up inside of the seal and return with moldy if you are not careful.

You can try to video it up, but that is not the best solution, it is individual a temporary one at best and you call for to replace that gasket.
its not the silicone its the plexiglass get rid ot it and put within glass. plexi is the worst for seal. i would never use plex or give any warranty for it
