Leaking sliding door!? I had a bedroom windowpane taken out and replaced with a 6...

I had a bedroom windowpane taken out and replaced with a 6 foot sliding door that lead to the side of the backyard. I live in Southern CA and beside the recent strong rains started to percolate from the top, right where the trim and the door unite. It drips quite a bit it get my curtains soaked. How can I fix this? Pls any advice will be greatly appreciated.
Answers:    You requirement a metal "drip ledge" installed the full length of the patio door atop the top molding ( and between the molding and siding)

Dont settle for only just caulk in in attendance. Caulk will eventually crack and the water will enter the house again.

Insist on a metal piece shaped within an "L" section and run the full length. The upper leg of the "L" is placed beneath the siding, while the foot of the "L" is placed directly atop the trim mold of the patio door.

As you can visualize, dampen running down will catch the lower leg of the "L" and run away from the door, not enter it.
I meditate you need to phone up the person who installed the door for you.Sounds approaching he didn't seal (caulk) the door/wall mutual very in good health
