Answers: Rico has sort of get it; look at the hole where the marine goes through the form; if it is square or hexagonal, the seat can be replaced. (You might have need of to dig some of the minerals past its sell-by date to see). The hexagonal ones can be removed with allan wrenches. Some of the square ones can be removed using the square shaft from the old-style doorknobs. Some of them come out using the extension on a 1/4" drive socket wrench (no socket) you can also use the narrowed square shank of one of the old-style bits that go contained by a brace; just shove it into the hole firmly and turn the bit next to water pump pliers. Other clever you'll need to bring the special L-shaped wrench with 3 sizes of square and 3 sizes of hexagonal on respectively end (only a few $). When removing, variety certian to get adjectives the minerals off first and be certian to use the largest factor of the wrench that will fit into the hole or it will strip when you try to remove it. The seats just cost a dollar or so unless it is a very wierd style. When you step to the store, be certian to take the ancient seat next to you as there are in the region of 100 slightly different types! You are better off going to a well-stocked neighboorhood hardware store where on earth the guy will actually spend the time to assist you find the correct part. While you're in that, get 2, as the other one will probably progress bad soon.
I don't know what thump set means but if pipe have crack and its leaking....replace pipe
