Craftsman 6.5 hp w/ Briggs/Stratton motor 4 cycle. Push (not self propelled)
I prime the ball, verbs the cord and nothing. Every few tries it will backfire on me. A couple of times when I pulled the cord it yank back on me. I consent to it sit for an hour thinking I flooded it and still nothing. I pulled the plug and cleaned it. I took the atmosphere filter and muffler off. I pulled stale the head and checked the organizer gasket. (It was intact). It's almost a year and a half outdated with no warranty vanished. Any thoughts?
Answers: When it yanks the cord final it could be an idication of the ignition timing being past its sell-by date. The only approach for this to happen is to shear the flywheel push button. To check it you will have to remove the engine cowling and the nut bad the flywheel. At that point you should be able to see if the knob ways are alligned. If they are not alligned you will have to verbs the flywheel and replace the key. Shearing the switch usually happens when you hit something near the blade. Use a puller to remove the flywheel and torque the nut back on to in the region of 45 ft lbs.
clean sparkplug... may involve to clean magneedle. possible wet in fuel, (all it take is a drop) . carb float might be sticking (if it has a float)... carb itself may involve to be cleaned...the lines that has a filter for the fuel, the filter might be dirty... hope it help
