HONDA "EASY START"..runs fine when started but takes and excessive amount of crack when pulling cord. Needs a hard verbs. Any ideas?
This is what I would do. First I would put a small amount of fuel contained by the sparkplug hole and than try to start it. If it starts as easy as it should I would suspect a fuel issue. If it doesn't I would suspect ignition. With most ignition modules the engine have to turn about 250 rpm to create the spark. It could be that the distance between the module and flywheel is too great or have moved. It may be that the ignition module is weak.
Most predictable a fuel issue. You might try backing the be idle adjusting screw out a quarter turn and try it.

I have see two cycle Honda and four cycle Honda mowers. Which one do you have will determine what we can do here to crank it.

If you enjoy a 2 cycle Honda that means it take mix gas and oil together to run it and if you don't put plenty oil mix surrounded by the gas, your screwed. I use 8 oz 2 cyl oil to one gallon of gas.

If you enjoy a four cycle engine that means it take four strokes of the piston moving up and down before adjectives valves are closed to crank up. If you hold compressuion leaking from any of these valve it won't start.

The other side of this is that if you run it lowq on oil and lose compression from cylinder wear it won't start.

I can stir on and on aboout what it could be, but I have no perception what your mower is doing unless you can be more specific about it after I can tell you how to fix it.
Answers:    The excessive energy on the pull make me think of low grease level. Check that, and if it looks black, translate the oil. Dirty gas won't label the pull frozen. Shine a penlight in at hand, if it looks clean, take off it in.

If not low grease level, the with the sole purpose other thing I can ponder of would be a tangled or dilapidated recoil gears. These can be checked out, but are EXTREMELY confusing to even people who are justifiably mechanically-minded.
