ok so i have a kenmore a/c with 5,300btu what warmth would make the room colder from 60-85?
Answers: Not sure about the ask but that size A/C unit will only touch one small room so keep the door closed and you should be able to uphold 70 - 75 deg. F.
HVAC Tech: that is a really small window element. The more heat gain the room has the closer it is to imposable to preserve cooling the room. Maybe you should replace it with a 10,000 or a 13,500 BTU unit. Either will run on the 120v service already near. It may be cheaper to operate as the compressor might get to shutoff while keeping the room cooler. Set it to 70 you cant get much colder than that unless your rooms a closet
