i have a ge pane mount a/c unit that someone drilled a drain within the base and go into the freon line. i would resembling to repair it , is this possible?
You can repair it if : You own an oxy-acetylene torch, a vacuum pump to get adjectives moisture out of the system, an epa certificate to purchase freon, and the know how to kind it all work. I would suggest it would be cheaper to buy a current unit. Good luck and God Bless.
Yes it can be repaired but needs to be repaired at the percolate site, service taps added to the lines to know how to pull a vacuum and make a payment refrigerant. These systems are sealed from the factory and enjoy no access to connect refrigerant gages.
Also you have to be certified to work beside refrigerants and of coarse have the proper tools and know how.
Take it to an appliance shop for repair, an within shop repair should be about $60.00
Answers: I don't think you can repair it yourself. The refrigerant is sold to professionals with the sole purpose due to environmental regulations. I tried to buy it for the AC in my truck. BUT you could unambiguously take it somewhere and capture it repaired.
