Is superglue a conductive substance? My microphone broke this morning, it wasn't working so I took it...
My microphone broke this morning, it wasn't working so I took it apart and found two wires severed. I mght be able to get the wires reconnected beside superglue, will it work?
Usually, this type of problem is fixed with a soldering iron.
Unless you get lucky and manage to carry the metal of the wires in contact with respectively other while the glue dries, it probably won't work. The glue will bring between them and insulate rather than conduct. I'd strip enough insulation from the two ends of the lead, then twist them together. Get a cable nut to stick them in and tighten it on, use electrical tape to be sure nil can possibly ever come in contact with the unclothed wires. Be careful not to get them surrounded by contact with the other wire of the mike, or it'll blow a breaker or fuse when you power it up. Might work, freshly make sure the wires are connected to the speakers and none touching the other. Then use the glue to hold them surrounded by place.
Answers: Superglue cannot conduct electricity. The charge just gets lost within the polymer. Its just a microphone so it doesn't use much electricity so it sounds plausable if you are careful. But i do not underneath any circumstance condone what you are attempting.
Good-luck
