We are trying to improve the level of the water we drink and shower/bathe within, specifically removing chlorine. I feel inundated near the choices. The carbon based filter folks tell you that RO hose down is dead and discouraging water because ALL the minerals are removed. Then you hold like ten step carbon filter which seem pretty clothed, and in a middle-of-the-road $100 price range. RO's are usu. $200 and up. And ionic hose down filters are pricey, but they alkanize the dampen, and you can choose the water you want, acid, alkanine, etc. for cooking, drinking. One more chance is whether to get a complete house filtration system? Does NYS offer free river testing or is it done by municipality?

I use a reverse osmosis filter for my drinking water and the dampen has a especially good taster compared to what I get out of the regular thump. It takes out the chlorine weakness, plus a lot of other things similar to lead. The one I hold is only a small one for drinking marine and it cost about $150 and made by Whirlpool. Most of the bottled wet your buy in stores is filter by reverse osmosis. For a whole house system I'd stir for a water softener and the reverse osmosis for drinking
