Just wondering if my humidifer is working (attached to the furnace)....I hear water running (from the copper chain which feeds the hose into the unit)...but how do I know whether it is working or not? the filter is clean and adjectives the hoses are clear...any help please? appreciation
Answers: You can actually unstop the humidifier on the furnace (which I am hoping that you have by this point anyway to verbs the filter). Anyway, you can open it to see if the filter is raining. Another way is to buy for a time Humidistat. They couldn't be more than $5 at a hardware store or home improvement store. It have a dial showing humidity level. OH, also, if it is really cold where on earth you are, there is a worthy chance that you might enjoy ice on your window if it is working....even with really moral windows.
from your brief description, I would articulate that it is working. If the air is not too dry, if in that is not much static electricity when you walk across a hearth rug, and if you feel for a while more comfortable, the unit is working. If you are really concerned, hold it checked out by a service person
