So our basement get flooded and then our pump stopped working so it put out or wet heater I took the cover past its sell-by date the thing and theres some wires and later a little pilot muted window. It say to not remove the inner door on the instructions. SO how do I light it? it it self lighting? It say on the outside that its self cleaning.
it most likely have either a piezo ignition on it close to a gas fire or an electric spark ignition. there is no style you can relight it with a game. sit down with a cup of tea and own a good read or the ignite the pilot light screened-off area of the manual
if i am correct you turn it to pilot.push it in...and here was a tab that slides to the side and i took a grill lighter and lit where on earth the flame should be inside...and once it is lit (you should still be pushing in on the knob on pilot) very soon turn it to on.then it should stay lit.
devout luck

Answers: Yes, it is likely a piezo ignitor that "snaps" when you push it and generate a spark to ignite the pilot. That spark ignitor might be bad or not work if it is drizzling.
But if the pilot was lower than water it might not clear the sea well to allow the gas to come out that tiny orifice within the pilot. It might need to be removed and cleared as resourcefully.
A service call might be needed if it won't relight well
