I just bought a bedside light fixture that says to use "six Maximum 40 Watt type B bulbs" which I know are the teardrop shaped bulbs. Is it ok to use six 40 watt zest efficient Compact Florescent bulbs instead?
Answers:    yes
yep, they are even starting to produce torpedo shaped CFL's.
Theoretically, you could even use 60 watt equivelent CFL's if you want more light. The 40 watt rating is likeley at hand to limit the amount of fry put out by the incandescent bulbs; CFL's put out less fry and use less punch s wiring will be more than sufficient.
