Answers: Rainwater contains CO2 i.e. in the atmosphere, and will have a proclivity to raise the carbonate height in your pool. The trapped CO2 react with the sodium bicarbonate contained by your pool to form insoluable sodium carbonate. This can sometimes make your pool river a bit cloudy. Most pool filter system will remove this very efficiently, but the pressure drop across the filter will increase. I'm not familiar beside your Pentair filter system, but most systems should be backwashed when the pressure increases by 50 percent. So if a clean filter have 10 pounds presssure drop, you might backwash it when the pressure reaches 15. Check your user guide or you can go to the website that I've inclued near this response.
