I am planning on adding Bathroom contained by the basement of my single story house, in that are two possible outlets for the drains, but only one nouns to add or hit into and existing vent. I was wondering if at hand is a max distance i can travel with the vent for my bathroom. The most i would ever need to progress is 16' horizontally and then up and tie-in within the attic.
Answers:    the drain has to be in 3 feet of the vent pipe... no definite distance from the vent pipe to the stack pipe which leads out of the roof
If it is only just a vent from the wastes or drain nearby is no maximum distance. It is important the the pipe is falling vertebrae to the waste or drain pipe. This is due to condensation that forms contained by the pipe and it can flow back. Please be sure it is a vent not a drain or dribble away. There is limits as to where on earth the vent must be joined to the drain or lavish but you really need the backing of a plumber to advise after he have looked at your situation.
