Is drain smell toxic? I have an open drain vent exhaust for my toilet break open...

I have an open drain vent exhaust for my toilet break open in the attic and have be meaning to run it up through the roof but am wondering if i am poisining us. it doesnt smell at all but I am sure the smell does linge hang around in the attic. Could it be hurting us?
Answers:    You must vent it outside ASAP. Sewer gas is not just smelly it is flammable! Accumulating sewer gas can explode. That is why the vent exists within the first place. Do not let any open flame or boil source get anywhere near your attic. Open and vent the attic and boater off that pipe until you finish running the vent. Sewer gas is METHANE! Methane is colorless and odorless. Please see to this immediately. If you enjoy a fire and an investigation finds this to be the cause your insurance may not cover the resulting damage.

not probable, unless you're hanging out in the attic..
you'd best purloin care of it right away though, before it become a bigger issue with mold etc..
