In-home CENTRAL AIR UNIT suggestion? My 3-bed / 2-bath (brick) home is 1862 square feet nouns...

My 3-bed / 2-bath (brick) home is 1862 square feet nouns with a 10 foot dignified ceiling.

Should a 1/2 ton Central Air unit be adequate to keep my house both cool during the summer months and melt during the winter seasons or could I accumulate more money by upgrading to a High Efficiency Heat Pump?
This house is in the Texas panhandle.

more information is needed. how abundant windows and which mode do they face, the type of house construction (i.e. brick, stucco, etc...) and the ability of the insulation in the walls adjectives play a factor into sizing air handling equipment. If the component you had earlier did a decent livelihood, then achieve the same size part.
