How much do you think that would cost to repair and what complication's come with it?
Answers:    Repair of a diluted floor joist should not be too bad. Usually just a situation of "sistering" another joist to the old one -- the new joist would be placed beside the older and fastened to it.

Pipes, wires or ducts running through the joist or beside it can complicate matters. Anything running through the joist may have to be disconnected, pulled out, next reconnected. Your best bet is to have a contractor look at it before you buy.

I regard as the bigger question should be what caused the problem surrounded by the first place. If the joists are undersized, what will happen to the rest of them? If in attendance was some kind of happenstance or vandalism, were any other parts of the house affected? A report by a qualified home inspector would be a flawless idea.
Can't tell you short looking at it, but there are two methods of repair. Replace it or install a new joist subsequent to the old one.

I've never done one for less than$200 or more than $800.
