I'm have a trouble lighting the pilot table lamp on my wet furnace.? i have tried and tried. what am i doing wrong....

Answers:    if you doing the steps right to light it consequently its the thermo coupling. if its bad it wont stay lit when you tolerate off the red button. cost give or take a few 10 dollars or 90 for a pluber to do it. are you holding the red button down long enough?
if its one if those clicker ignighters. hold down the red button and clik the starter enormously fast close to 20 times in 10 second keep holdind the red button down for 1 min.
if that dont work phone call the plumber

Since the pilot is off, likelihood are it is the thermocouple. That is the aluminum or copper colored tube going from the gas valve to where on earth the pilot flame impinges on. Hold down firm on the red button and the pilot should light. Continue to hold down for at lowest possible 30 seconds. You can try releasing the red button and pressing again like lightning if the pilot flame is not staying lit. Sometimes thil will help the magnet fence in. If this doesn't work replace the thermocouple.
