What I need to know is is it worth the additional $750.00 to upgrade from a two stage to unsettled speed. If so why. Thank you.
Answers: The variable speed blower is needed to achieve the sophisticated efficiencies available in today's AC systems.
It is also the quietest blower built, and consume about 18 to 22% of the power used by conventional blowers.
Spend a couple extra bucks and upgrade to an Air Bear filter too.
Be sure to achieve the 10 year parts and labor warranty on whatever you buy.
I found that for my house, a two stage was faultlessly adequate. Key is to have the blower sized properly for the sq. ft., duct size and vent nouns. When I did the calculations with best estimate calculation, it worked out to about 25 years of savings to break even. yes, deeply what a 2 stage system is, when you run your equip within a few degrees of your thermostat settings, you run at a minimal cost, yes they do cost more, but within the long run you save, simple as that.
