I have a hot tub flame lock water space heater and the pilot will not relight, I cant seem to find any process to light it near a match and I dont really own the money to call a repair man and nobody I know know how to fix it. Is there a course to take it apart and manually muted the pilot?
How frail is the waterheater? Should be less than 4 yrs. Ur thermo coupling might be worned and 1 process to light the pilot is to bring the glass shield bad and light it manually. The standard procedure is written on the W/H itself. 1. Turn rotten the unit by the regulatory spigot. 2. Set the knob to pilot 3. Press down on the knob to release gas to pilot light. 4. Snap the ignitor. (U should see spark shooting out to bedside light the pilot. ) 5. Keep the pressure down on the knob til the pilot light is own. 6. If it's lit...hold the knob down for 30 sec. 7. If the pilot light stays on..than u turn the knob to ON. The W/H should see in. If thepilot go out and not working...U enjoy to replace the Thermo coupling. $less 20. If ur not handy with pliers or wrenches. Get a Plumber. The service should be smaller quantity than ($100). This is a Professional advice. Don't clutch the glass frontage plate off til u try the above mentioned. U clutch it off when u replace the Thermo Coupling.
Not being competent to re lite could be a couple of things. The push button igniter could be bad. The pilot may be dirty. Reading up on these things it seem they need to be serviced nearly 3 times a year due to the dust and lint collected in the screen going into the combustion chamber.
I am sure there is a mode to manually light the pilot but I am not sure how. Here is a page I found on how to make over the thermocouple. It has some appropriate pictures and may be of some help
