and now it's still chirping with a unusual battery in it! Our house is one and only 5 years old and they were installed when it be built. Help!
Once the freestyle has been replaced, try holding a cushion over the smoke detector for 30 to 60 secs (the alarm will sound). This should reset the alarm next to the new battery. The mobile should be changed every year, most do this when we switch to daylight savings time. The chirping is an indicator of a weak battery-operated.
usually they chirp when the battery is low,try another freestyle but before you do, blow in it to remove any nouns it is detecting. First, check the battery you put in to form sure it's charged. If so, replace the smoke alarm with a new one. If the antediluvian one is hard wired, get an alarm technician to check it out.
Try a new battery-operated again.then check your other detectors..usually when one chirps it will set the others off...i found this out at 3am one morning the thorny way.. Maybe theres a fire?
1. Try new battery.
2. Try brand new Smoke Detector
2a. Be careful some newer units use house smudge voltage and they're a special kind of smoke detector.
Answers: Try another new battery. It's possible that the mobile that you installed wasn't any good.
