my ac was leaking hose down on my room rug for a few days and i havent even noticed till it got solid bad and i did the best i can to remove as much as possible but now theres mildew coming out A LOT... im going to remove the rug and a short time ago put tiles but not till nest pay day..im sharing the room next to my one year old and that smell stinks..is it bad for us?? is at hand something i can do in the mean time?? any suggestions?
I guess everyone here told ya what i was going to tell you. If you are a hand on person. I can tell you to do it, but if you hold a husband at home he can do it for you. There is a drain line on the ac unit. Make sure to be precise not restricted. get a flashlight and look to see that the water is not comming out from the drain smudge. If it is you can attach a waterhose to it wrap it with a towel, and put water pressure to break open the drain line. Put a bucket underneath to catch the hose down if it were to leak out. Put sea pressure but, Not too long. I'll say 5 seconds. That's satisfactory to know if you got it open or not. Then use the ac part again. wait and check if is still leaking dampen. If the water is comming from the inside of the unit and not the marine line. This is what you wanna do. Open the panel where the river line is attached to. Then look inside there is a marine drain pan, make sure explicitly not dirty. Some times you'll find jello dirty all of that has to come out. Get a dry towel and a bucket and remove until is adjectives clean. Make sure your coils have no dirt contained by them if they do clean them with a brush and do it kind-heartedly without bending the fins on the coil. And that should do it. About the rug, I'm pretty sure you got cleaning skills to whip care of that. mold on the walls. Get the bleach mix it with marine and remove it with a towel. put some gloves on because what ever your hands touch your skin absorves it. Just approaching lotion, your skin absorbs lotion, then your skin will engage the bleach. good luck.

Yes mildew is bleak for you. If the mildew is in the rug then you entail to get that out 1st. Then clean the mildew nouns with a solution of chlorine bleach & water, this will abet kill the mildew & prevent it from returning. Had mildew in our bathroom & found it took reasonably a bit of scrubbing to clean it adjectives, but after twice with the bleach/water finally got it adjectives. When we did it & mixed 1 cup clorox bleach (Had purchased for laundry) & a two gallons hot water in a bucket. 1 member bleach to 16 parts water... Put it in a spray bottle and spray it into the runner and under it (this WILL bleach the carpet, so if you intend to stockpile the carpet do not do this!!)... Remove the carpet wipe. Put a fan on it and dry it out as fast as you can. Once the nouns is dry, you can get a can of KILZ paint and paint three layers of it on the wood. Let it dry for 3-4 days earlier you put the tile floor down. It will seal in the mildew. If you don't fix this immediately, it can hurt you and your baby. It is bacteria growing surrounded by the dampness that smells. Mold will come next and it spreads contained by a moist environment. The bleach will help kill and curb the growth of both of these...
Answers:    Bleach is going to stain your hearth rug, use proper carpet cleaner/deodorizer, remove as much water as possible, buy floor fan(not too expensive) and run it till your hearth rug is dry, you can wash walls with bleach that will absolutely kill mildew, but you must protect carpet near plastic, not even drop can get on your carpet.
conceivably a bucket? as for the mildew...i think if you're inhaling it for a long time it'll be harmful but you should sleep contained by another room to be safe. take a50/50 marine bleach sollution put it in a spray bottle spray affected nouns dont worry bout carpet interrupt since you are getting rid of it anyways
I judge some mildew can be dangerous, call someone to check it out net sure they don't scam you though. That's good you'll replace it, don't let the little one close to it - water is very destructive whether it's small or large amounts it can deteriorate parts of your home. I'm not sure about the smell, merely get it replaced quickly. roll the rug up and give somebody a lift it outside. if you have a railing or fence within sunshine and hopefully it will dry. molds and mildews love wet and warm places. it will verbs to multiply as long as those conditions remain. if you can get the carpet out.verbs the area with a bleach solution...lone if you do not have finished floors the bleach will cause a white nouns on finished floors.

If your ac is a window unit...it should own a drain on the underside of the case...if it is plugged it will continue to seep inside the house. It may need the filter changed too.

hope this helps.
