The ignitor sparks, gas flows, pilot will light & work fine most of time. Once within awhile pilot will not light and section goes into lock out. Once reset, pilot will street lamp normally. Have replaced pilot assembly and spark length is roughly speaking 3/16 inch. Anyone have any suggestions?
Answers:    There are several problems that could create this scenario. Sometimes you need to only sit and watch the section cycle to see when it locks out and take minute of what's happening or not taking place. It helps to disconnect the thermostat and manually start/stop the furnace on the stat terminal of the furnace.
Every now and after, you get a component that has a variably intermittant problem ( these spawn me crazy). What I hear some people do, not that I've ever done it mind you ;<) , is to replace the ignition board beside a 100% retry version. These will not lock out, but will reboot and retry until ignition is achieve.
