I basically bought a dryer but the 220 volt plug is too big for my standard outlets. Is here a converter? Help!? If I need an electrician to come contained by and install...

If I need an electrician to come contained by and install a new outlet, any perception how much it will cost?
Not sure on the cost of an electrician to come in and do that sensitive of work but the best place to see about a converter and weather or not it will work would be your local hardware store. I would deduce that they make them but I would be worried that it would overload your switch and rationale the breaker to kick stale which would be a pain. Talk to someone at your local hardware store and afterwards call around and attain prices from electicians.

If your conversation about the standard 120V household plug that you would plug anything else into?? Then this will not work for a 220V dry, the dryers come beside this unique plug for a defence. A standard household plug is not rated for 220V nor the current required to run a dryer (definitely a potential fire menace if you attempt to adapt it).
By Code a dryer should own an independent circuit from your power panel, which includes a:
- 2pole 220V breaker, in the panel, rate for the proper amperage
- 4 conductor cable (2 hot wires, 1 neutral and 1 ground) sized to knob the current required to run the dryer.
- 4 prong receptacle (to plug the dryer)

As for how much this will cost to install,,,, I couldn't tell you. Price vary based on how much work is required to do. You probably can capture 2 or 3 quotes from local electrical contractors.
Answers:    You don't need an electrician. All you obligation is a screwdriver. First go to your favorite home supply store (i.e. Lowes, Home depot) and buy the appropriate lead with the connector that match your wall outlet. Then remove the back sector of your dryer that contains the power connection. Swap the two out, get sure the three connections are tight, and replace the cover. Then reposition the dryer, connect up the vent and turn it on. Happy drying.

PS - I've already been through this. Of course your outlet must be apt for 220V. (I've never seen a 120V clothes dryer.) The ripened style is three plug and the new style is 4 plug (1 round, 3 blade). Your dryer come with the modern plug but your wall outlet is for the elder style 3 plug cord. You can match your dryer telecommunication to the type of wall plug you have. Home supply stores stock this product for ancestors with mismatched (old/new style) cords. It will own absolutely no effect on your electrical device or its ability.
