I know nothing of insulation except some can be blown within and some are rolled out. I am on a budget but my utility bills mandate I deal beside this. I just don't know what I have need of and what form is most economical on my budget.

Answers:    Blow in cellulose or mineral wool/fiberglass is really the best. You can roll batts of mineral wool/fiberglass yourself but the gap on the sides of the batts make them smaller amount efficient.

You can rent a blowing mechanism at most home centers or rental stores and blow cellulose yourself.

Cellulose has an excellent R significance per inch but over time it does compress more than the other types of insulation. It is a great product though.

The best insulation is spray foam but it is very expensive and you hold to hire a crew to apply it.

GETTING THE BLOWN IN IS CHEAPEST AND EASIEST. IF YOU WANT TO DIY YOU CAN RENT THE EQUIPMENT AT HOME DEPOT, BUT ITS NOT MUCH MORE EXPENSIVE TO HIRE SOMEONE. THEY BLOW IT IN THROUGH THE ROOF VENTS
