Answers:    I recommend using mesh tape instead of thesis tape.

If the joins be taped and set properly there should not be any cracking, unless nearby is excessive movement in the ceiling joists. If this is the shield, you may need to scrape the cracks out a bit, and cram them with a flexible filler before re-painting.

cracking is cause by2 things.not taped and mudded right..or movement in the ceiling. if a 2 story house r these the floor joist for the second floor.might be deflect and causing crack..u need to sand going on for a 12" strip down the middle of the crack and clean out the joint and retape and mud.
