We moved into our new home that have been untenanted for 6 months. We noticed the slight odor past purchasing the home and thought it was basically the rubber floors the owner put in the workout room. We took out adjectives the rubber floors and aired out the basement. Within a year, the smell was subsidise. We had a plumber state that in attendance could be air caught contained by one of the p-traps. We ran dampen in adjectives the drains for 20 minutes and flushed the 2 toilets multiple times. We filled the bathtubs twice and permit them drain... still to no avail. I feel shortness of breath when I am down here. We have an a/c part and a sump pump in the underground room, however it doesn't seem to smell where on earth those items are. The plumber did state he detected a sewer smell after walking into our foyer . We have contacted a home inspector... after relaying our cocerns, we be told that they would call us pay for when they had time to come check it out. I never hear back... and call back to follow up and still no answer....
Answers: Have you notice any mold spots. Any black specs on the walls, ceiling, or flooring. The sump pump could contribute to mold growth, and the shortness of breath is worrisome.
