I have a circulation pump from my heat boiler that pumps the water around a coil contained by the hot water container. The pump is isolated by a valve any side of it but they arnt working so I need to drain the system and next refill it. Any proposal?
Not yet, guess the isolating stopcock as mentioned is a non return valve (water will simply flow one way) no back pressure can flow rear legs, Suggest switch off the system, next drain the tank M.T till no pressure contained by the tank.
spread out both valves and check if the non return valve are frozen due to dirt or maybe lid broken, give somebody a lift a sample to any intricate ware store and replace both valves, this will liberate your money. Good luck
Are you sure that the valves aren`t working...but why ?
Is the hose down so bad that their guts hold been eroded away ? Try nip them up by gripping the stems with a set of two of Footprints. If they are slotted try just turning them until the slot is `across` the flow of river
If that fails, capture a replacement pump and hire a freezer kit. Follow the instructions and `Hey Presto` a wonderful tentative pump.
To be honest if your valves hold been eat by the water, afterwards a drain down and a good flush through using the correct chemical treatment and a fill up on with some fully clad inhibitor added to the water might okay be the best idea. But be prepared for the certainty that it might find some weakness somewhere else surrounded by the system.
Good luck.
Answers: If you're going to drain the system, replace the valves near full-port ball valve while you're at it.
