I own a 100 yr aged house. the window own pullies on the side so they can be in motion up and down. where on earth the pully? comes out of the side of the inner frame, air comes out...

comes out of the side of the inner frame, air comes out during the winter when the furnace go on. is there something that i could stick within the hole to plug the air . i enjoy tried tape, cotton ball, paper and i am looking for another solution. i don't involve the windows to shift up and down during the winter. you would be suprised how much air comes out when the furnace go on. help!
Answers:    Go to this Old House on the trellis Or ask this old House they hold a good network site for this ??? they have done several shows on this subject
The easiest piece to do would be staple plastic on the outside of the windows..after stapling..put see-through cardboard strips over the edge of the plastic to hang on to the wind from ripping it rotten..do not get that TRUE thin plastic..get hold of some heavier stuff
