What is the cause of this? Condensation? Or do I now own a leak in my sink?
Answers: The trickle that come off of your melting rime would not compare to draining your sink any other time. If you have not seen a puddle previously, it is unlikely that a bleed is the cause of your puddle today.
Is it possible that part of the rucksack overlapped the counter top and melted on to the surface, leaking around the sink rim?
Do you hold a stainless steel or painted steel sink? If it doesn't have an insulating coating on the underside, did humidity come in contact next to the cold surface and condense, creating the puddle? (Note: Have you noticed your toilet tank sweating and creating a puddle on the floor?)
I would still check for a seepage first. Dry the sink base cabinet, place sheets of newspaper across the entire sink stand floor, close your drains, and fill your sinks to the rim. Now check thoroughly with a muted across the surface of the paper for signs of moisture, then inspect the drains and supplies for moisture. If you see no moisture, like lightning pull the plugs for your sink and as the water drains into the dissipate lines, inspect them and the newspaper for signs of water drops.
If you don't find a ooze, just clean it up, and monitor it frequently.
I would suggest that you cover the floor beside a water tight material, such as sheet vinyl floor covering and caulk around the edges to avoid adjectives water damage.
Sounds close to you may have a leak. Put the plug contained by the sink, and fill it up. Now unplug it and watch underneath the sink to see if you can see a drip. If you do it's time for some plumbing. Try tightening adjectives connections before you call a plumber--mine be just that a connection worked loose over time.. condensation...if it be a leak you would have notice it sooner...
